IN THE CLOSTER GAMING
AUSTRIA

July 17 - 23, 2022

THE

MASTERCLASSES

Der Kurs
ACCOMPANY

Excellent, experienced accompanists are available throughout the course to assist students during individual lessons.

CHARTERHOUSE

Kartause Gaming was founded as a Closter in 1330. Today it offers an amazing space to stay, eat, make music and meet new colleagues from around the world.

PARTICIPANTS

The course is intended for university and conservatory musicians, as well as those who have already completed their studies, for teachers, young musicians and committed hobby musicians. The minimum age is 14 years.

COACHING

Systemic coaching proves its worth with young musicians who are in the process of finding their own way, discovering new paths and thinking outside the box. Every student has the opportunity to register for one coaching session.

INSTRUCTIONS

Each student will receive comprehensive instruction from their primary teachers and have consistent opportunities to meet with them to discuss various ideas. If desired, individual lessons can also be attended by a teacher from another instrument.

CONCERTS

As part of the International Masterclasses Gaming, faculty and students will perform in the beautiful Stiftskirche (Closter Church) and in the hall of the baroque library.

FOOD & LODGING

All participants and faculty members have the option of meals and lodging in Closter Gaming.

LECTURES

Daily Lectures on important topics in historical performance practice will be offered by Vanni Moretto. The lectures are open to all participants.

CHAMBER MUSIC
Also spontaneous chamber music formations are welcome and may receive  instruction.
ORCHESTRA

Vanni Moretto will conduct voluntary orchestra projects in addition to the private lessons.

THE IDEA

The goal of the course is to give participants the opportunity to get to know the course's passionate musicians who regularly work as soloists, ensemble leaders and teachers. Students receive comprehensive private instruction giving them a greater understanding of period performance and the works they're studying. For this deeper understanding, students have the opportunity to hear various lectures on various themes of historic performance practice. Systemic coaching, which was introduced in 2019 and is very popular with students, is a valuable addition to the International Masterclasses Gaming.

The evenings will be spent playing chamber music and/or working with Vanni Moretto as an orchestra. At the end of the week, students and professors will perform together in one of the Closters baroque halls.

Situated in the beautiful hillside of Austria, Kartause Gaming is just two hours from Vienna, Salzburg and Graz. In the historic ambiance of the Closter, the participants can make music in this beloved historic location and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. All students and professors will stay in the Kartause Gaming. Meals will be prepared fresh in the Closter and enjoyed together in the lovely dining hall.www. kartause-gaming.at
