ACCOMPANISTS
Excellent, experienced accompanists are available throughout the course to support the students during the individual lessons.
COACHING
Systemic coaching has proven its worth with musicians who are in the process of finding their own way, discovering new paths and thinking outside the box. Every participant has the opportunity to register for a coaching unit.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
The course is intended for university and conservatory musicians, teachers, as well as young students and committed music-loving amateurs. The minimum age for attending the Masterclasses is 14 years.
LECTURES
Vanni Moretto will offer daily lectures on important topics of historical performance practice, open to all participants.
CONCERTS
As part of the International Masterclasses Gaming, faculty and participants will perform in the wonderful church and in the baroque library hall.
KARTAUSE GAMING
The Kartause Gaming was founded in 1330 as a monastery. Today it offers a great setting for living, making music, eating, discussing in the monastery courtyard and meeting new colleagues from arount the world.
ORCHESTRA
Voluntary orchestral projects conducted by Vanni Moretto are offered in addition to individual lessons.
ACCOMMODATION & FOOD
All participants and lecturers have the opportunity to stay and eat on the premises of the Kartause.
CHAMBER MUSIC
Spontaneous chamber music is welcome and may receive instruction if wished.
THE IDEA
The aim of the course is to get to know passionate musicians, who work as soloists, ensemble leaders and educators, to experience them up close and to exchange ideas with them. Students receive comprehensive private instruction giving them a greater understanding of period performance and the works they're studying. For this deeper understanding, students have the opportunity to hear various lectures on diverse themes of historic performance practice. In the evenings spontaneously formed chamber music and/or orchestral projects take place. At the end of the week there are public concerts with participants and lecturers in the baroque rooms. Systemic coaching, which was introduced in 2019 and is very popular with students, is a valuable addition to the International Masterclasses Gaming.
The Kartause Gaming is located in the wonderful hilly landscape of Austria - 2 hours from Vienna, Salzburg and Graz - and is characterized by the unique flair of the former monastery complex. Embedded in the historical ambience, the participants make music in rooms of living history and enjoy the time in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. All participants and lecturers are housed in the wonderful premises of the Kartause Gaming. Meals are freshly prepared in the restaurant and taken together in the atmospheric vaulted cellar. www.kartause-gaming.at
